| Mass of Thanksgiving for Fr. Sipe |
Photo Galleries HomeMass of ThanksgivingOn Saturday, June 15, a sung votive mass of S. Thomas Aquinas, Patron of Universities, was offered by The Rev'd Dr. Lawrence Sipe, Honorary Assisting Priest at S. Clements, in thanksgiving for his having been granted tenure at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. A luncheon followed. Fr. Sipe sent the following note to the parish: Dear Fr. Offerle: I am writing to thank everyone who was involved in making my Mass of thanksgiving such a wonderful experience. Those involved in serving at the altar; the musicians; those who arranged the flowers; those who prepared and served the delicious luncheon; and all those who worked in any way to make the service and the luncheon proceed so beautifully deserve my deepest thanks. It was especially gratifying to see people from various parts of my life-from the parish, the university, and other friends-mingling and conversing in such a friendly way. The visitors were all very taken with the reverence and beauty of the worship and with the graciousness of the parish in making the luncheon so lovely. Truly, no one does these things like S. Clements! Yours in Christ's love, Lawrence R. Sipe |
