V. We adore thee, O Christ, and we bless thee.
R. Because by thy Holy Cross thou hast redeemed the world.

OUR Lord Jesus Christ humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the Cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a Name which is above every name.

V. Truly he hath borne our griefs.
R. And carried our sorrows.

GRANT, we beseech thee, Almighty God: that we, who by reason of our weakness do falter amid so many adversities, may take heart again through the interceding Passion of thine only-begotten Son. Who liveth and reigneth world without end. Amen.
